Import a Song Snippet from Spotify, YouTube or TikTok: Paste a Link and Pick Your Hook

In the Audio step you can paste a Spotify track link, a YouTube video link or a TikTok sound link, or upload your own audio file. Spotify gives you the 30 second preview of the track, YouTube and TikTok open an import window where you pick a 10 second section and keep either the video or only the audio.

Four ways to bring in sound

SourceWhat you get
Spotify track linkThe matching 30 second preview, with title, artist and cover art
YouTube video linkThe video, from which you pick a 10 second window
TikTok sound linkThe most viewed video that uses the sound, from which you pick a window
Audio file uploadYour own file, trimmed on the waveform

One input field handles all links. It recognizes the platform from the pasted address and routes it to the right importer, so you do not choose a source first.

Spotify links

Paste a Spotify track link and the exact track is resolved. The 30 second preview is fetched and stored so the link stays valid, and the snippet is loaded directly into the Audio step. You then choose the section on the waveform. Title, artist and cover art are saved with the snippet and later prefill the overlay, so the cover and track name appear in your videos without any typing.

If you have no smartlink yet for the track, one can be found or created from the same link, and the snippet is linked to it. That keeps every video tied to the smartlink that tracks the clicks. See smart link tracking for music marketing.

YouTube and TikTok links

A YouTube link downloads the video in high quality including its audio. A TikTok sound link looks up the sound page and loads the most viewed video that uses it. Either one opens the Import whole video window, where you drag a 10 second window across the video. Videos shorter than 10 seconds are rejected, and the file size limit is 200 MB.

After picking the windowResult
Keep videoThe 10 second clip becomes a standalone project and you jump straight to the text step
Keep only audioThe 10 second audio fills the Audio step and you continue with your own visuals

Slicing a music video into assets

Keep video is the quick way to turn an existing music video into social media assets. Pick the window, keep the clip with its own soundtrack, then add hooks, lyrics and an overlay on top. Repeat with other windows to make several assets from one source.

Rights and good practice

Only use sound and video you own or have permission to use. For your own releases, the Spotify link is the fastest path. For sounds trending on TikTok, check the licence terms of the sound before running it as a paid ad.

Once the snippet is set, continue with images and clips as described in the creative generator overview.

FAQ

How long is a Spotify snippet?

Up to 30 seconds. It is the preview of the track, matched to the exact Spotify track you pasted.

How long is the window for YouTube and TikTok imports?

10 seconds. Videos shorter than 10 seconds are rejected.

Is there a file size limit?

Yes. Imported videos can be up to 200 MB.

Can I keep only the audio from a video?

Yes. Choose Keep only audio and the trimmed audio fills the Audio step so you can add your own visuals.

Does the importer fill in cover art and track name?

Spotify and TikTok imports return title, artist and cover, which prefill the overlay. Your own file does not carry that information.
